=====
Well, I'll take a stab at it. This once again, is an example of the likes of our "non-partisan, unbiased, fair and balanced" mainstream media, bashing Governor Palin with more untruthful, prevaricate misleading information, and leave it up to Lil' Mikey and Political Amazon to give credence to it.
I have got a little more than half way into this, and will finish it tomorrow night, but clearly, anyone with a shred of common sense, should be able to see how unfair, untruthful and outright distorting our mainstream media has become. One has to ask themselves, "Why the lies?"
Here goes:
1. "312: the number of nights during her first 19 months in office that Palin charged taxpayers a "per diem" totaling $16,951 for staying in her own home -- an allowance intended to cover meals and incidental expenses while traveling on state business "(Source)
Response: First, this little snippet is based on a Washington Post article, and if you look at the Washington Post's article, captioned, "Palin Billed State for Nights Spent at Home" the headline is not at all truthful. Here is the actual vouchers submitted by Governor Palin, and clearly, Governor Palin never charged the taxpayers of Alaska for staying in her own home. Governor Palin wrote "Lodging - own home" to indicate why she didn't charge a lodging per diem. The forms demonstrate that there are no charges listed under "lodging." :
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/graphic/2008/09/09/GR2008090900280.html?sid=ST2008090900325&s_pos=list
Of course, at the bottom of the article, the Washington Post did actually report that Governor Palin has spent far less on her personal travel than her predecessor: e.g.; $93,000 on airfare in 2007, compared with $463,000 spent the year before by Governor Frank Murkowski. That Governor Palin actually flies coach and encourages her cabinet to fly coach as well. That the previous Governor's wife charged per diem expenses three times higher than Governor Palin's family.
Just as important, this little snippet fails to mention that Governor Palin's per diem requests are legitimate, and by no means did Palin take a per diem unlawfully. The state of Alaska actually allowed Governor Palin to claim a much more sweeping per diem that would have claimed expenses for each child taken on official business, but Governor Palin refused.
=====
2. "$500 to $1,200: the fee that Wasilla charged rape victims to pay for post-sexual assault medical exams, after the city cut funds during Palin's tenure that had previously covered the exams" (Source)
Response: Well, this one sounds just scandalously horrific! The problem is, that it is not at all truthful! The truth is, that there is no record of any individual in Wasilla ever being charged, or ever paying for their rape kit, EVER!
http://confederateyankee.mu.nu/archives/274003.php
http://americanpowerblog.blogspot.com/2008/09/leftists-smear-palin-in-rape-kit.html
=====
3. " $150: the cash payment offered by the Palin administration to hunters who turn in legs of freshly killed wolves gunned down from airplanes" (Source)
Response: True. Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADF&G) enhanced efforts to reduce the predatory wolf populations over five areas around the state. Alaska's wolf-control program, now in its fourth consecutive year, involves volunteer pilots and shooters who track and kill predators in the winter months under special department permits. Removing wolves is one part of ADF&G's efforts to restore and increase selected moose and caribou populations which provide food for Alaskan families. This year's moose count shows a continued drop in moose numbers - unprecedented in the years since wolf/moose relationships have been under study there. Moose numbers are down to under 400 (Which were over a 1,000 in 2002). Wolf numbers have also dropped from 30 to 21.

http://www.isleroyalewolf.org/wolfhome/home.html
===========
4.: "3 the number of times during her first few weeks as mayor that Palin inquired with the Wasilla librarian about banning books" (Source)"
5: "the number of months after the censorship discussion that Palin fired the librarian" (Source)
Response: I would think that at this juncture, everyone (with the exception of Moonbats) knows that these allegations are misleading and untruthful, and an outright biased attempt to besmirch Governor Palin's reputation.
http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2008/sliming_palin.html
http://www.americanthinker.com/2008/09/media_cooking_the_books_on_pal.html
=====
6. 100: the approximate number of Wasilla residents who rallied to support the librarian, prompting Palin to withdraw her termination letter (Source)
Response: Again, there is no truth to this story. As a matter of fact, it turns out that Ann Kilkenny, the Democrat woman who first made the allegation, was not even present at the meeting between Librarian Mary Ellen Emmons and at the time, Mayor Palin. Footnote: It turns out, that Ann Kilkenney is married to a man named Pat Johnson, who is a local politician himself, sitting on that area's planning (platting) commission. Ms. Johnson, (who doesn't go by that name) is in the "urban planning; don't expect to buy your necessities in my community" category, and it also turns out that the Johnson's (Ms. Kilkenney) were supporters of the major oil leases that Governor Palin ceased….As in "ceased the graft. Associates of Ms. Kilkenney's and her husband were purportedly involved in opposing the Governor's tax on major oil, suggesting that Ms. Kilkenney either supported those that were taking payoffs from major oil, or was directly involved herself. I would say that this in and of itself, is enough to discredit an admitted partisan Democrat from besmirching Governor Palin's record, which speaks for itself.
http://www.americanthinker.com/2008/09/media_cooking_the_books_on_pal.html
========
7. 0: the number of foreign heads of state Palin has met (Source)
Uhm…..Actually, since Tuesday, September 23, 2008, the number of Heads of State that Governor Palin has met, equals the amount of Heads of State that Senator Obama has met, and Governor Palin is running for the office of Vice President:
http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5ijGq94pVTj9FGiR-c5EdA3iSm2owD93CNPQG1
============
8. "0: the number of commands Palin has issued as head of the Alaska National Guard "(Source)
Response: Not truthful.
http://hotair.com/archives/2008/09/06/palin-inexperienced-not-really/
http://www.truthorfiction.com/rumors/p/palin-national-guard.htm
Alaska is the first line of defense in our missile interceptor defense system. The 49th Missile Defense Battalion of the Alaska National Guard is the unit that protects the entire nation from ballistic missile attacks. It's on permanent active duty, unlike other Guard units.
As governor of Alaska, Palin is briefed on highly classified military issues, homeland security, and counterterrorism.
She's also the commander in chief of the Alaska State Defense Force (ASDF), a federally recognized militia incorporated into Homeland Security's counterterrorism plans.
Palin is privy to military and intelligence secrets that are vital to the entire country's defense. Given Alaska's proximity to Russia, she may have security clearances we don't even know about.
According to the Washington Post, she first met with McCain in February, but nobody ever found out. This is a woman used to keeping secrets.
She can be entrusted with our national security, because she already is.
http://www.truthorfiction.com/rumors/p/palin-national-guard.htm
==========
10. "0: Wasilla's long-term debt when Palin took office in 1996" (Source)
11. "$18.6 million: the long-term debt Palin racked up by the time she left office in 2002, amounting to about $3,000 per resident" (Source)
Response: An outright fabrication and fictitious.
In the early 1990s, and when Governor Palin became Mayor, Wasilla Alaska was little more than half as big as it is today, and much more loosely confederated. There was no police department, there was no fire department other than a volunteer fire department, there was no waste water treatment plant, the infrastructure was equivalent to war torn Iraq. Mayor Palin did in fact change that, under voter supported bonds, so once again, the writer has greatly exaggerated the facts and what actually took place during the 1990s under Mayor Palin in Wasilla Alaska.
http://www.codepublishing.com/ak/wasilla.html
http://www.time.com/time/politics/article/0,8599,1837918,00.html
==============
11. "$50,000: the amount of city funds Palin used without authorization to redecorate the Wasilla mayor's office, including adding flocked, red wallpaper that made it look "like a bordello," according to a former Wasilla City Council member" (Source)
Response: The person making this allegation is former Wasilla City Councilman Nick Carney, who takes credit for launching Governor Palin's political career.
http://www.sltrib.com/news/ci_10506822
Unfortunately, Mr. Carney has no evidence, nor any records or documentation to substantiate this claim. Mr. Carney can find no other individual to support his allegation:
http://www.salon.com/news/feature/2008/09/17/palin_mayor/
Governor Palin has a different take on her relationship with Nick Carney:
"I couldn't do anything without Nick Carney griping about it. That was the nature of our relationship," Palin said. "I could have walked across Lake Lucile on the water, and he would have griped about me splashing."
For Palin, her landslide re-election in 1999 answered the critics. It was the one election where her slogan changed from "new ideas" to "stay the course."
"I took that as a mandate that we were on the right path," she said.
http://dwb.adn.com/news/politics/story/8334949p-8231037c.html
Of course, former Councilman Carney is known for his sense of humor, and his various "ruses":
When Wasilla city councilman Nick Carney recently proposed abolishing city property taxes, he said it was more of a joke and a ruse to spur discussion about the town's future than a serious proposal."
http://www.adn.com/sarah-palin/background/story/529273.html
=====
12. 33: the percentage by which Palin increased the budget of Wasilla during her tenure, despite billing herself as a fiscal conservative and champion of smaller government (Source)
Once again, an outright fabrication and fictitious. See Numbers 10 & 11:
http://www.codepublishing.com/ak/wasilla.html
http://www.time.com/time/politics/article/0,8599,1837918,00.html
13.: 25: the percentage by which Palin raised the local sales tax in Wasilla to pay for a sports center, despite claims that she cut taxes (Source)
Response: Not truthful.
"Wasilla residents have given the go ahead to building a new multiuse sports center in town and to raising the city sales tax to pay for it.
With the final votes counted Friday, residents voted 306 to 286 in favor of a measure to raise the city sales tax from 2 percent to 2.5 percent to pay the estimated $14.7 million cost of building the center."
http://www.adn.com/sarah-palin/background/story/526887.html
===============
15. $27 million: the total amount of federal earmarks Palin secured for Wasilla's town of 6,700 people while she was mayor, thanks to the help of a Washington lobbyist with ties to indicted Sen. Ted Stevens (R-AK) and convicted felon Jack Abramoff (Source)
17. 3: the number of times John McCain specifically criticized earmarks requested by Sarah Palin when she was mayor of Wasilla, citing them as examples of wasteful spending (Source)
18. $453 million: the total amount of earmarks Palin has asked U.S. taxpayers to fund for Alaska projects over the past two years, despite McCain's insistence that she hasn't sought earmarks or special-interest spending from Congress (Source)
19. $506.34: the amount of federal earmarks Alaska residents will receive per capita in 2008, the highest level of any state (Source)
Response: Truthful, that Governor Palin has requested earmarks for the State of Alaska, but the amount stated here is incorrect and this is a total distortion and a mischaracterization of the facts.
Governor Palin's earmark requests aren't unusual, and pale in comparison to her counterpart, Senator Biden's pork barrel spending sprees.
http://washtimes.com/news/2008/sep/16/gop-pushes-for-biden-to-release-earmarks-list/
Moreover, every self-respecting mayor and governor in America seeks federal dollars for local projects. Governor Palin has also sounded numerous cautionary warnings on earmarks, (here's one from March, 2008) :
http://www.newsminer.com/news/2008/aug/29/palin-setting-earmarks-opinion-straight/
Despite the fact that Alaska receives more earmarked federal money per capita than any other state and is unusually reliant on those funds because of its geographic isolation, massive size and extreme climate.
http://www.newsminer.com/news/2008/aug/29/palin-setting-earmarks-opinion-straight/
The total amount of money requested from the Congress by Governor Palin totaled less than 200 million:
"The Palin administration has responded to this message by requesting 31 earmarks, down from 54 last year. Of these, 27 involve continuing or previous appropriations and four are new. The total dollar amount of these requests has been reduced from about $550 million in the previous year to just less than $200 million. "

I will finish up the rest of these prevaricate, misleading statements tomorrow night!

individual in Wasilla ever being charged, or ever paying for their
rape kit, EVER! "

There's no need to release a rape victim's name to determine whether
she was charged for a rape kit or not. The City of Wasilla and the
Police Department searched all available records (statement on the
Wasilla website) and there is NO evidence whatsoever that Palin or the
city of Wasilla charged a rape victim for a rape kit..NONE. NADA.
Meanwhile, it's been discovered Barack Obama co-sponsored a bill in
Illinois as state senator that charged rape victim's insurance
companies for rape kits:
http://www.ilga.gov/
410 ILCS 70/7) (from Ch. 111 1/2, par. 87‑7)
Sec. 7. Charges and reimbursement.
(a) When any ambulance provider furnishes transportation, hospital
provides hospital emergency services and forensic services, hospital
or health care professional or laboratory provides follow‑up
healthcare, or pharmacy dispenses prescribed medications to any sexual
assault survivor, as defined by the Department of Healthcare and
Family Services, who is neither eligible to receive such services
under the Illinois Public Aid Code [my emphasis]NOR COVERED AS TO SUCH
SERVICES BY A POLICY OF INSURANCE[/my emphasis] the ambulance
provider, hospital, health care professional, or laboratory shall
furnish such services to that person without charge and shall be
entitled to be reimbursed for its billed charges in providing such
services by the Illinois Sexual Assault Emergency Treatment Program
under the Department of Healthcare and Family Services.
So, in plain English - if you have insurance in Illinois and you are
raped, YOUR INSURANCE IS CHARGED FOR THE RAPE KIT.
Shame on Barack Obama for re-traumatizing rape victims by forcing them
to deal with their insurance company after being raped once already.
Clearly, Barack Obama doesn't care about women who have been raped.
