People are rushing the wounded to the hospitals.
More than 25 civilians have been killed and another 55 seriously wounded in heavy clashes between al-Shabab fighters and African Union forces.
The fierce fighting broke out between the AU forces and al-Shabab fighters in southern Mogadishu on Thursday with both sides employing everything in their capacity, including heavy guns and artillery.
Civilians are fleeing the scene of war as artillery shells are landing in their districts at Wardhiigley, Dayniile and Hodon.
The sound of ambulance sirens are heard everywhere and some reports have suggested that Mogadishu hospitals do not have enough doctors to deal with the crisis.
This is the first time that AU forces do not have the backing of Somali government forces.
