The Foreign Educational Institutions (Regulation of Entry and Operations) Bill, 2010
1. A number of foreign educational institutions have been operating in India and some of them may be resorting to various malpractices to allure and attract students. Due to lack of policy or regulatory regime, it has been very difficult for the government to make meaningful assessment of their operations. The enactment of a legislation is necessary to maintain the standards of higher education as well as to protect the interests of the students and in the public interest.
