Lok Satta Movement

Lok Satta Movement

Scene 1

Janani Janma Bhoomi …

Do you take care of your mother?

Then why don’t you take care of your motherland?

Several noble souls of this soil have given their lives to relieve their motherland from the hands (clutches) of the British.

(1) 1857 - The First War of Independence – The Sepoy Mutiny
(2) March 12th, 1930 - Dandi March - Mahatma Gandhi took the lead.
(3) April 13th, 1919 - Jallianwala Bagh Massacre – The ultimate example of The British tyranny
(4) August 1942, Quit India – The louder chorus of anguish of Indians to turn out the British rule.
(5) Azad Hind Fauj (INA) – The collective demo of Indian patriots.

Scene 2

August 15, 1947.
Shot of Union Jack coming down and tricolor flag going up.
Wow! What a fight!
What an achievement!
Kudos to those martyrs of our motherland who waged a LEGENDARY STRUGGLE to win the historic war.
Nation till date is proud of those greatest sons of the soil.
WE SALUTE THOSE LEADERS.

The joy is obvious on the faces of leaders.

Punjaba sindhu Gujarata Maratha
Dravida utkala vanga
Scene 3

A computer graphic shot of the period between 1947 to 2007

(1) The jewel of India – Jawaharlal Nehru
(2) The Man who fought against corruption – Jayaprakash Narain
(3) The leader of IT revolution in India – Rajiv Gandhi

The story of the fall of morality in Indian politics goes like this --- three phases.

Phase 1

Industrialists, political leaders, autocrats, self-styled regional federal lords whose selfishness brought down the dignity of Indian rulers.

Phase 2

Political leaders taking goondas help

Phase 3

Now since 1990 the scenario is deteriorating - day by day …
Mafia Don, land grabbers, goondas, and hooligans are taking the nation for a ride!

Scene 4

(1) Group of rural women - Symbol of our culture & heritage

(2) Group of urban women – The grand representatives of modern India

(3) Rural youth – The power of gramswaraj

(4) Urban youth – The ultimate power who can shake, brake, and make the India today.

(5) Professionals and the working class – The symbols of our might

They all have - One Nation
One patriotic feel
One movement

MOTHERLAND TO PROGRESS

They all collectively exhibit solidarity to express their gratitude for the ARCHITECTS OF FREE INDIA

MERA BHARAT MAHAN
Scene 5

As the groups are placing the wreaths on tombs of great leaders …

The Unknown Voice: “Stop it!”
(Solo)

Youth group: “Why?”

The Unknown Voice: “What are you doing?”
(Solo)
Youth group: “We commemorate those great souls.”

Group of unknown voices: “We don’t want it!”
In chorus

Youth group: “Why?”

Group of unknown voices:
In chorus
This is not the India we envisaged.
This is not the country we dreamt of.
This is not the condition we thought of.
This is not the India we fought for.

Youth group: What should we do now?
Echo

Group of unknown voices:
In chorus

Try to create a new India with a clear vision and thought to enhance the lives of all Indians.

AWAKE ARISE STOP NOT TILL YOU REACH THE GOAL

The youth group and the leaders of all groups are juxtaposed.
Scene 6

IN THE DARKNESS (Shadow light)

The leaders of all groups are recollecting what they heard. (Visual)

They can’t sleep (Visual)

They all see a small light glowing.

They start traveling towards it.

THAT MAY BE THE LIGHT WHICH CAN GUIDE THE POLITICS OF THE NATION IN RIGHT DIRECTION WITH RIGHT SPIRIT AND WITH RIGHT ATTITUDE.
Scene 7

They reach a stage when the light glows and transforms into a human character.

THAT HUMAN CHARACTER STARTS TALKING

What is democracy? For the people, of the people, and by the people.

But today’s democracy is: Far from the people, off the people, buy the people.

If you take a cross section of the society you find:
Men without aim
Youth without discipline
Leaders without patriotism
Followers without purpose
Politics without conviction
Politicians without morals
Political parties without commitment

Selfishness is the key word of power.
Power is the ultimate of politics.
Politics aimed at exploiting the nation’s money.
If you ______ any _____of a parliament or _______of any State Assembly we can define in one line
SHAMELESS SELFISHNESS TO RETAIN POWER – is the key note of politics..

What can be the remedy?

Change the rulers

Bring the new party rule

No.
It cannot solve the problem.
It is like you change the players, but the rules of the game remain the same.

What’s the problem?
POOR GOVERNANCE
BAD GOVERNANCE

Can you elaborate?

Yes. If today my tenant is not vacating my house, I don’t want to go to the Court of Law, because it may take 10 years to pass the verdict.

I prefer a local goonda to solve the problem.
He goes to my tenant and breaks his arm.
Next day my tenant vacates the house after paying fullest rent with all dues.

But …
If you have a local court in local language, if justice is not delayed …
If my tenant knows that I can get judgment within 30 days he will vacate.
Demand for goondas diminishes.

GOVERNMENT SHOULD TAKE RIGHT STEPS IN RIGHT DIRECTION.

(1) Judicial reforms
(2) Police reforms
(3) Local government empowerment
(4) Accountability - When people are not taken to task when they take a bribe corruption can never be eradicated.
(5) Fair elections must be conducted.

Every eligible voter should go to the polling booth and vote. If any one neglects to go he is as bad as a person who rigs somebody’s vote.
BALLOT PAPER IS POWERFUL THAN A BULLET

(1) No one thinks that they have a great responsibility as a citizen of India
(2) No one believes that he is the reason for the Gross Injustice being done to the nation in general and citizen in particular.
(3) Everyone must think that he should think about the nation, about his state, about the society and take all the care to put an end to the corruption that is prevailing all over.

Then the (unknown voice) starts asking (solo): (1) Are you ready to contribute your might to the progress of our nation?

Youth group (chorus): Yes

Voice unknown (solo): (2) Can you lay forth your lives for the solution of the present problems.

Youth group (chorus): Yes

Voice unknown (solo): (3) Can you unite irrespective of your caste, creed, region and religion for the better India?

Youth group (chorus): Yes

Voice unknown (solo): (4) Can you lead and drive the youth and masses to the path of clarity without any disparity?

Youth group (chorus): Yes. We deem it all our sacred duty to think and attend at the problems of our political system.

Voice unknown (solo): As long as there is no reward for good behavior there is no punishment for bad behavior. People would never ever get good governance. Good governance is not _______ without country into “ANDOLAN.”
