I wonder why an Intelligent Artist so COMMITTED like TMC MP hitherto, Guest KABIR Suman was DUPED by Parliamentary Free Market Democracy of the Ruling Brahaminical Hegemony. His outbirst LIVE was witnessed by the person who I respected most, my INSPIRATION, Mahashweta Di who is a known CRUSADER for the Aboriginal Communities. But DIDI is Silent as she remained Silent ofn the MASSACRE of the Black Untouchable EXILED Bengali Partition Victim DALIT Refugees TRAPPED in Marichjhanpi for THREE Decades full just after the Thundering Spring was wiped out and the Marxists captured the WRITERS for almost Three decades NON Stop.It was the Beginning of MARXIST GESTAPO Genocide Chronology. I Knw DIDI very personally. She never believes in Technology and hates COMPUTER. But I know well that she is most INFORMED lady who knows my Primary and GIC teachers also. Mahashwetadi has been always uptodate in her Field Work and Informations since the JHANSI KI Rani days. While MARICHJHANPI was liberated she had already completed ARANYER ADHIKAR and HAZAR CHURASIR MA. But she remained SILENT and Supporting the Marxist RULE. She did opposeand even led the SINGUR, NANDIGRAM and Lalgarh Insurrections only recently but as yet SHE has not Come out to defend the interests of the SC and OBC and the REFUGEES! sHE HAS NOT DEMANDED justice FOR marichjhanpi AS THE DOCUMENTARY FILM ON THE FIRST MARXIST ETHNIC CLEANSING IS BEING SCREENED IN NEW DELHI ON TWENTIETH NOV.THE DOCUMENTARY WAS SEEN ON KOLKATA TV FOR FIVE TMES. BUT BENGALI INTELLIGENTSIA AND CIVIL SOCIETY REMAINED QUITE SILENT.

Thus, I WONDER not that
Guest Kabir SUMAN is ALL in ALONE as the
Intelligentsia and Civil Society Stands untied with the Genocide
Culture of the Ruling Hegemony and Chidambaram`s War in Defence of
Corporate Imeperialism and Economic Slaughter!

This Morning as Newspapers landed at home, I had a little quarrel with Sabita as she was defending Mamata and her activities as Practical politics even justifying the grievances of Kabir Suman and condemning the guest tag. I may well understand the strategic stance taken by changing Wing WEATHER Cock educated previlleged Ruling Class Brahmin Intelligentsia and Civil Society as I know well most of them personally.

But some of them are NEVER so strategic as My FATHER Late PULIN Babu had been. He believed all the Politicians including Presidents, Prime Ministers, Ministers, Party Presidents, MPs , MLAs and INTERACTED with all of them until he brethed last just because he hoped that perhaps some of them would help his Cause to resolve the Pending Refugee Problem and it Never had to happen. He was an ILLITERATE man who overcame all his limitations with his die hard commitment to the Balck Untochable Negroid People. I never discussed Politics and tried to help him best in his cause. He was not DISILLUSIONED with the DEMOCRACY!

I remember my dead Father and wantto believe that the CONCERN of an ATRIST may be true as he is not a politician as my GFather had not been.

I also remeber RAMDUTT Joshi, the socialist leader from Nainital who witnessed Revenue Inspector JB Singh breaking my father`s hand, thrashinghim with other comrades in Rudrapur PC after DHIMRI Block Peasant Uprising was CRUSHED with MILITARY Option right in 1958. But Joshi famous for hsi Honesty , as a witness in the court denied the ATROCITY. IN 1967, he defeated ND Tiwari from Kashipur in the General Election. Charan Singh was the new Chief Minister and we all expected Joshi to be inducted in the ministry. But Charan Singh Inducted PRATAP Bhaiya from PSP Quota in Nainital. Grievances always remain and JOSHI resigned from the status of MLA.

My father simply forgot. He befriended with Joshi and the Socialist was quite at home. His son, an ALLAHABAd uNIVERSITY STUDENT kAILASH jOSHI , was my friend and died untimely as he suffered from Personality Disorder. Joshi was quite affectionate to me and discussed his personal problems , too as I was a friend to his son.

apparently taking offence to a

comment from party chief Mamata
Banerjee.

Till late evening, he was all ballistic, claiming he was
about to inform the Lok Sabha Speaker and Prime Minister. But at midnight
— after a long closed-door meeting at his home — he went back on his
decision. “I am considering things very seriously, but before I take any
major decision, I shall talk to my leader, Mamata Banerjee. I hope things will
be ironed out very soon and it is not going to end in divorce,” Suman told
TOI.

“I have voiced my grievances against some local leaders,
like Shovan Chatterjee, who have made my life hell. Now, I hope the party
leaders will try to root out corruption. If this continues, then Trinamool and
CPM will be two sides of the same coin. Trinamool is yet to come to power in the
state. If corrupt leaders are not weeded out then imagine what will happen when
they rule the state.”

Suman has gone hammer and tongs at his
own party for the last 48 hours, alleging that local leaders were not allowing
him to work. On Monday, he even named some senior leaders who he accused of
corruption. “My party is full of petty and corrupt leaders at the local
level,” he had told TOI in an exclusive interview. “No one takes me
seriously... If I complain to Mamata Banerjee, she asks me to sing a song
instead.”

Suman vows to skip session

Suman

Calcutta, Nov. 17: Kabir
Suman today said he would skip the Parliament session that starts on
Thursday and was “seriously considering” quitting the Trinamul Congress
and his post of MP.

The singer told The Telegraph he
was disappointed with Mamata Banerjee for calling him a “guest” in the
party after his public outburst about Trinamul officials coming in the
way of development in his constituency, Jadavpur.

It
was the word “guest” that triggered his thoughts of resigning from
party and post, said Suman, who will make up his mind after consulting
Mamata, Speaker Meira Kumar and the parliamentary affairs ministry.

“I
don’t know how an otherwise wonderful leader like Mamata Banerjee can
call an elected MP a ‘guest’. I find it surprising,” said Suman, who
has cancelled his plan to travel to Delhi tomorrow for Parliament’s
winter session.

“Instead
of addressing the impediments to development caused by local Trinamul
functionaries, I have been called a guest. So, I am seriously
reconsidering my continuance as a Trinamul MP.”

On
Sunday, Suman had alleged that some party officials in South
24-Parganas wanted to use his MP’s development funds according to their
will.

“I
fought against the CPM during the elections. After that I got busy
fighting local Trinamul leaders, who were clamouring for my MPLAD
funds. I tried to pass on the message to Mamata through party leaders
like Mukul Roy and Purnendu Bose, but the problems persisted,” he said
today.

The
first-time MP said he had so far received half his annual quota of Rs 2
crore to spend on his constituency, and was using it to get 44 deep
tube-wells installed.

“Work
is on in Kheyada II gram panchayat behind Ruby General Hospital, but
the local leaders want the funds to go to them. Similarly, I’m having
problems in Baruipur because of local Trinamul leaders. I have realised
that contesting the election was a mistake,” Suman said.

He
said he feared physical attacks from a section of Trinamul leaders. He
also accused the Centre of planning a war against tribals in the garb
of a crackdown on Maoists.

STF office at Hyderabad and the Shramjivi Express
in 2006, were arrested in the metropolis today with a huge amount of fake
currency.

Abdullah Baki, Mohammad Tahidur and Abdul Rahman were
arrested by Special Task Force from Babughat after they arrived here by train
from West Bengal's Murshidabad district, Special Additional Commissioner of STF
Rajib Kumar said.

"Baki was involved in the attack on the STF office
at Hyderabad and Tahidur on the Sramjivi Express," Kumar said.

The
three were members of the Pakistan-based Sahid Billal group which provided
support to LeT and HuJI, he said.

Fake currencies with a face value
of 30 lakh in denominations of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 and maps were seized from
them," Kumar said.

He said that Indian driving licences and voter ID
cards were seized from them which they had procured in Bangladesh.

"We have information that they had planned to create disturbances
during elections, but were not successful," Kumar said.

Fresh Suman salvo at Trinamool

KOLKATA:
A day after he publicly slammed his own party, singer-turned-Trinamool Congress
MP Kabir Suman unleashed yet another salvo on Monday,

TwitterFacebookShare

saying he was tired of
pursuing MPLAD projects that local Trinamool leaders want to "monopolize".

They want him to "just stay at home and sign the papers", fumed the
first-time MP who beat CPM strongman Sujan Chakraborty for the prestigious
Jadavpur Lok Sabha seat.

Local party interests were hampering his
development programmes, Kabir said on Monday, hours before Trinamool's core
committee meeting.

"I am sick and tired of these people. Shovan
Chattopadhyay (Kolkata Municipal Corporation borough chairperson and a Mamata
Banerjee loyalist) told me I need not go to the villages. He asked me to stay at
home and sign the papers. If that is so, why the hell am I an MP? Let the MPLAD
be renamed Party-LAD. They want to do whatever they feel like," said the singer,
who was one of Mamata's surprise prizefighters in the election.

The
singer complained that when he refused to sign on the dotted line, the local
leaders hurled abuses at him at public meetings.

Trinamool chief
Mamata Banerjee was not harsh with Kabir Suman. "I am also not happy with the
functioning of the panchayats," she said on Monday. "Suman is an artiste with
Left leanings. He is not our party activist. He joined our party a few months
ago. There is no need to get alarmed."

Suman's tirade which stunned
his partymen was the result of long-pent-up frustration, say insiders. According
to Trinamool sources, a section of organizers such as Shovan Chattopadhyay is
taking full advantage of Mamata's busy schedule and using the ranks to their
individual advantage. For instance, South 24-Parganas zilla parishad chief
Samima Seikh, otherwise an "innocent woman", is being controlled by
Chattopadhyay, say party insiders.

Suman fumed at the party's
reaction to his comments. "Senior party leader Subrata Bakshi told supporters
that I am an intellectual and Trinamool wants me as an MP but that the party
will not run as I want it. I would ask them to fight the elections and relieve
me of this embarrassment. Nobody takes me seriously. Whenever I try to raise an
issue, the leaders try to divert it urge me to sing a song instead," said the
much-loved singer and political greenhorn.

However, Suman has nothing
against Mamata or his colleagues in Parliament Saugata Roy, Mukul Roy and C M
Jatua. "I want Mamata to come to power, which is why I want to reach out to the
poor with MPLAD programmes. But that is not happening. I tried to tell Mamata on
one or two occasions. She told me that my constituency was her constituency,
too. But things did not change for the better," said the first-time
MP.

Suman's explosive allegations indicate that not all is well with
Trinamool's tryst with intellectuals. Before the Lok Sabha polls, there was a
well-planned campaign by Mamata to showcase the cultural side of her party by
putting artists, actors, singers and writers at the
forefront.

Worried by Suman's plainspeak, party secretary general and
Leader of the Opposition in assembly Partha Chattopadhyay said: "The party is
looking into his complaints. Kabir Suman, as I know him, is a well meaning
emotional person. A section of the media is trying to play up his comments. But
things are not as they see it."

According to sources, Suman had
earlier given vent to his feelings while talking to other MPs in the central
hall of Parliament. But these statements were off the record. The individualist
that he is, Suman gave a piece of his mind at an Adivasi press meet on Monday,
saying the party had turned him into a "slave".

The singer-turned MP
wants to establish his identity in Parliament as an individual and not just as a
number in the Trinamool bench. "I want to enjoy the right to raise my hand and
oppose Union home minister P Chidambaram on issues where I don't agree with him.
I have been the most vocal against this party hegemony that stifles the
individual. But I must say that I could say all this because the party I belong
to is Trinamool Congress. There is no such scope within the CPM," he
said.

Suman is not alone. Some other Trinamool MPs in Hooghly, such
as Ratna De Nag (who's reportedly not on good terms with Kalyan Bandyopadhyay)
and Sucharu Haldar are facing similar problems with local leaders. Seniors have
sorted out such misunderstandings earlier and will do so in the days to come.
However, the glitches aren't a good sign for the party that is eyeing the CM's
chair in 2011.

Gold hits another high, Asian shares rebound

SINGAPORE:
Gold hit another all-time high on Wednesday on worries about future inflation
and economic uncertainties, while Asian stocks rebounded
as the generally
bearish dollar kept riskier assets in demand.

Spot gold rose as high
as $1,143.95 per ounce in early Asia trade, settling later just above $1,140,
with expectations for a continued weakness in the US currency also providing a
support.

The dollar rose as investors trimmed short positions after
euro zone economic policymakers followed US Federal Reserve Chairman Ben
Bernanke in commenting about the merits of a strong dollar, but dealers said the
rebound would likely be limited.

"It's going to be hard for the
dollar to gain further, since it looks like that the US will keep its low
interest
rate
policy for a while," said Tomohiro Nishida, treasury department
manager at Chuo Mitsui Trust and Banking Company in
Tokyo.

Expectations that the US interest rates will stay low for some
time have dragged down the dollar against major currencies and made global
investors look for better returns from riskier trades, such as emerging markets
currencies and stocks.

Oil prices extended gains above $79 a barrel on Wednesday in Asia after an
unexpected drop in US crude supplies suggested demand could

be
improving.

Benchmark crude for December delivery was up 35 cents to
$79.49 a barrel at midday Singapore time in electronic trading on the New York

US crude inventories unexpectedly fell last week, the
American Petroleum Institute said late Tuesday. Crude stocks fell 4.4 million

Indian students in US cross 100,000 mark

18 Nov 2009, 0128 hrs IST, Chidanand Rajghatta,
TNN

WASHINGTON:
The number of students from India enrolled in US universities and colleges

crossed 100,000 for the first time ever this year even as
international
enrollments in America registered the largest percentage increase since 1980,
defying broad economic trends.

As the number of international
students at colleges and universities in the US increased by 8% to an all-time
high of 671,616 in the 2008/09 academic year, students from India made up
103,260 of the overall number, according to the Open Doors report, which is
published annually by the Institute of International Education (IIE) in
collaboration with the US government.

The Indian numbers went up 9.2
per cent from 94,563 in 2007/2008 to cross 100,000 for the first time to retain
its position as the top place of origin for international students in the United
States. China remained in second place, although there was a sharp 21 per cent
spike in students from China, going up from 81,127 last academic year to 98,235
this year. South Korea (69,000 to 75,000) remained in third place.

This is the eighth consecutive
year that India has remained in the top spot. In course of a preview of the
forthcoming visit to Washington of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh next week,
Indian officials said on Monday that Indian student inflow contributed nearly $
3 billion to the US economy last year. Overall, international students
contribute $17.8 billion to the US economy, through their expenditures on
tuition and living expenses, according to the US Department of Commerce.

Authors of the report said the
findings do not reflect the full impact of the past year's economic downturn,
since decisions to come to the United States to study were made before the
financial effects were fully felt in the sending countries.

They also reported that the
largest growth this year was seen in undergraduate enrollments, which increased
by 11%, compared to a 2% increase in graduate enrollments. This growth was
driven largely by increases in undergraduate students from China, they said,
suggesting that increased affluence is enabling Chinese to send their children
to US for undergrad education, where there is typically less scholarship and
funding.

According to Open
Doors 2009, universities in California hosted the largest number of foreign
students with 93,124, up 10%, followed by New York with 74,934, up 7%, and Texas
with 58,188, up 12%. The New York City metropolitan area continues to be the
leading city for international students, with 59,322 enrolled in area schools,
up 8%. The Los Angeles metropolitan area is in second place with 42,897
international students, up 11%.

For the eighth consecutive
year, Open Doors reports that the University of Southern California hosted the
largest number of international students, this year reporting 7,482. New York
University held in second place with 6,761

international students, and Columbia
University, also holding steady in third place, hosted 6,685. Rounding out the
top five 2008/09 host institutions are University of Illinois at
Urbana-Champaign (6,570 students) and Purdue

University (6,136 students). Open
Doors reports that 171 US campuses each hosted more than 1,000 students.

The top ten most popular
fields of study for international students in the United States in 2008/09 were
Business and Management (21% of total), Engineering (18%) and Physical and Life
Sciences (9%), Social Sciences (9%), Mathematics and Computer Science (8%),
Health Professions (5%), Fine & Applied Arts (5%), Intensive English
Language (4%), Humanities (3%), Education (3%), and Agriculture (1%).

There was also a significant
20 per cent uptick in the number of American students studying in India, part of
the an overall growth in American students going abroad for academic purpose.
The number of Americans studying in India rose from 2627 in 2006/2007 to 3146 in
2007/2008, making India the 17th in the list of countries for US students. The
top five spots went to UK, Italy, Spain, France and China, the last of which had
more than 13,000 American students.

Ford Fusion named Motor Trend 2010 car of year

18 Nov 2009, 1045 hrs IST,
REUTERS

DETROIT:
Ford Motor Co's Fusion mid-size sedan was named Motor Trend magazine's 2010 "car
of the year" on Tuesday, adding to the perception that

changes to the No 2 US
automaker's vehicle lineup are gaining traction.

The Fusion was
chosen best of 23 new or significantly upgraded vehicles and the full range of
Fusion models impressed the judges, from the four-cylinder entry level vehicles
to the all-wheel drive sport and hybrid versions, Motor Trend Editor Angus
MacKenzie said.

"Ford has proven its resilience in these tough times
by delivering to market a car with broad appeal to a broad range of customers,"
MacKenzie said.

The Fusion, which has become one of the top 10
selling vehicles in the United States, was redesigned for 2010. Ford launched
the Fusion in 2006 and it set its previous annual sales peak in
2007.

"What a proof point, to be named car of the year by one of the
most rigorous tests in the world," Ford Chief Executive Alan Mulally told
reporters at Ford headquarters after MacKenzie announced the
award.

Motor Trend tested the vehicles on acceleration, braking,
handling, noise and responsiveness under various road and traffic conditions. It
also considered design, fuel efficiency, safety and value.

Ford
posted a nearly $1 billion third-quarter profit this month that surprised Wall
Street analysts and is the only large US automaker not to reorganize in
bankruptcy with US government support in 2009.

The automaker has said
it expects to return to a solid profit in 2011 with a gradual recovery in the
auto industry in the United States and key regions
internationally.

US auto sales peaked at nearly 17 million vehicles
in 2005 and have been falling since. Ford expects 2009 US auto industry sales of
about 10.6 million units including medium and heavy trucks, or around 10.3 to
10.4 million light vehicles.

"We are cautiously optimistic that we
are near the bottom right now," Mulally said of the US auto
market.

Ford's shares reached a more than two-year high on Tuesday, a
day after billionaire investor George Soros' hedge fund disclosed taking a 7.3
million share stake in Ford during the third quarter.

US 2009 sales
of the Fusion were up 15 percent through October at 148,045 but trail Toyota
Motor Corp's Camry and Honda Motor Co Ltd's Accord in the mid-size sedan
segment, one of the key areas in the US market.

Dearborn,
Michigan-based Ford has looked to set itself apart from U.S. rivals General
Motors Co and Chrysler Group LLC, which reorganized under government-funded
bankruptcies this year, and increasingly uses Toyota and Honda as benchmark
competitors.

Sales of the Fusion have helped keep Ford's US sales
declines for 2009 slower than the overall drop in the industry. Through October,
Ford's U.S. sales are down 20.4 per cent for the year, while the industry is
down 26 per cent.

Ford shares were up 15 cents, or 1.7 per cent, to
$8.86 in Tuesday afternoon trading on the New York Stock Exchange. Earlier on
Tuesday, the stock reached $9, a more than two-year high that is also a nearly
29 per cent increase since Ford posted its third quarter profit in early
November.

pursue unresolved issues
pertaining to the state.

Addressing nearly 40 MPs and 18 of his
cabinet colleagues at the first interactive session at the Jubilee Hall here, he
emphasised on the need to pursue with the central government all pending issues
during the winter session of Parliament, which is scheduled to start from
November 19.

"We have always been neglected by successive governments
at the Centre when it came to setting up of new rail lines, upgradation of state
highways and laying of new roads," he said.

Rosaiah asked them to
keep in mind the state's precarious financial situation and the difference they
can make to a majority of the people, who have been severely affected by drought
and floods.

The chief minister said, "I seek your valuable
cooperation in resolving issues pending with the GoI. The most important being
the release of additional financial assistance of Rs 11,707.85 crore under the
National Calamity Contingency Fund and Rs 4,136 crore under the PM's package.
Similarly, 19 pertinent issues covering some of the irrigation projects and
certain road formation and development related issues need persuasion with the
environment and forests department. Another key issue is the need to restore APL
(Above Poverty Line) rice allocation for 2009-10 to the level same as
2007-08."

Some other important issues pending with the central
government that require persuasion relate to disaster management, irrigation,
environment & forests, energy, civil supplies, health, agriculture,
infrastructure & investment and transport, he said.

Other items
in the priority list include early release of funds for various
centrally-sponsored schemes like JNNURM and AIBP, seek greater quota of rice for
the PDS. "Unless this is done it would not be possible to implement the promise
of enhanced rice quota to the BPL families promised by the former chief minister
Y S Rajasekhara Reddy before the polls," he said.

They were also
asked to put pressure on the Centre to see that four major irrigation projects
like Polavaram and Pulichintala were taken up as national projects. Some other
issues are, requesting Rs 300 crore central assistance to share the burden
arising out of implementing Arogyasri scheme, setting up of aviation university
in Hyderabad, revival of FCI at Ramagundam, release of Rs 356 crore crop
insurance, allotment of coal linkage under various thermal power stations and
allocation of coal blocks to the Singareni Collieries Company
Limited.

Prominent MPs who did not attend the meeting included Union
ministers S Jaipal Reddy, Jairam Ramesh, D Purandreswari, besides N Harikrishna,
K Keshava Rao TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao, MIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi and CPM
leader T Madhu.

Some participants who made a marked difference at the
gathering included Union ministers Sai Pratap, Panabaka Lakshmi, Kadapa MP Y S
Jagan Mohan Reddy and Medak MP Vijayashanti.

The gathering observed
two minutes silence as a mark of respect to departed leaders Y S Rajasekhra
Reddy and P Upendra before the start of the interactive
session.
