Thank God, there is a clear distinction between human beings and machines. Human beings make machines , they ( human beings) have feelings unlike machines. With this type of attitude there is all the more evidence to show how communal some elite people can be. So who is to be blame if people of some states demand independence, this is one of the factors responsible for the fragmentation of the Indian society. Most of us read and watch the news so it is incorrect to compare human beings with machines, rational human beings have respect and affinity for their fellow counterparts elsewhere who are suffering , they don't look at the colour or the creed. But here it is not so. Not only Assam but what about the incidents of West Khasi hills where the havocs of nature did not spare them some time back. Though NEHUTA exists in Meghalaya no thoughts of charity were entertained even for the unfortunate indigenous locals. Some time or the other true colors of some people come out openly. I only hope that sanity, true secularism will prevail in the end.

Thank you for the letter and expressing your sentiments to all of us.
We act on the directives of the GBM. The GBM wanted to help Bihar. None raised the issue of Assam flood. We acted accordingly.
Personally, I am of the opinion that the President NEHUTA (or any EC member of NEHUTA for that matter) is not a human being - it is a constitutional entity, formed by the collective decision and therefore has no gender (it is impotent and infertile if you like to add), no mind, no brain, no emotions, no feelings of its own; it knows no Bihar, no Assam, no NE and nothing for that matter. It is like a machine. It acts according to the Constitution of NEHUTA, according to the resolution of its EC (which has no living being on it) and it acts according to the commands of the GBM. It does not have either a right or an inclination to judge if the GBM is right (or wrong). It does not have a provision to evaluate the status of GBM or its dictates.
You are a noted scientist working all your life with sophisticated machines. You will agree with this view that computers have no opinions, no judgment, no feelings, no sense of wrong or right and so on. It acts according to the program and according to the laws of physics. No computer can point out a non-formal or non-syntactical mistake in the program. Similarly, NEHUTA EC and its President act according to the program - commands so to say - written by the GBM under the laws of constitution. The NEHUTA President or EC can (at best) point out the syntactical problems in GBM decisions. If the GBM takes note of it and corrects it, fine; else the NEHUTA EC and the President will HANG. Reboot it.
I may be utterly wrong in my opinion; but this is the opinion of SK Mishra and not the opinion of the NEHUTA President - exactly because this SK Mishra believes that NEHUTA president has no opinion - it cannot have any opinion - machines do not have any opinion.

Thanks for sending the proforma, but I'm surprised that only Bihar is mentioned. It seems Assam is forgotten or that people do not consider NE as a part of India. Our neighbouring state Assam has been devastated by floods but neither the National media or NEHUTA ( North Eastern Hill University Teachers Association) gave any importance , no wonder there is a strong feeling of step motherly treatment towards the people of NE. We cannot blame them any longer can we ?
