PROJECT ARROW INAUGURATED IN PARK STREET POST OFFICE, KOLKATA

Modernization programme under Project Arrow has been inaugurated in the Park Street post office of Kolkata today. Shri Goutam Bhattacharya, Post Master General, Kolkata region, unveiled the plaque at the Park Street post office.
Project Arrow was started all over India in April,2002 and so far 28 post offices in West Bengal circle have come under this.
Project Arrow is aimed at improving the quality of postal services as well as the look and feel of the post office. Postal service in India is over 150 years old. However, modern days call for not only delivery of letters and money orders, but also, delivery at the quickest possible time. At the same time a lot of new electronic and internet based services like money transfer have also been introduced in the post offices. Project Arrow ensures the time bound, correct and meticulous rendering of all those services to the customers. All the speakers at the programme underlined the importance of the Project Arrow programme and expressed the hope that the employees of the post office will enthusiastically take part in implementing this new modernization programme.
