SRIPRAKASH JAISWAL LEADS INDIAN DELEGATION TO AUSTRALIA
Kolkata: September 3, 2009
An Indian delegation led by Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Coal, Shri Sriprakash Jaiswal left for Australia on 30th August 2009. It will attend the functions/mining mission organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in cooperation with the Australian Trade Commission (Austrade). Mining practices adopted in Australia is considered to be the model in mining operations with induction of large capacity sophisticated technology and its management.
During the weeklong visit (30th August to 6th September, 2009), the delegation would visit prominent mines and works, interact with Australian dignitaries and experts for mutual cooperation in the field of mining operations. The Minister would address the Austrade CII Mining Mission to Australia on 3rd September, 2009. The delegation aims at evaluating better mining practices and mining technology to meet the challenges of growing coal demand in India. It also seeks improved relations and cooperation with the Australian Mining Industry.
