The President of India, Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil, will address the nation tomorrow on the eve of the 63rd Independence Day.
The address will be telecast over all channels of Doordarshan in Hindi followed by English from 7 P.M. onwards. The address will also be broadcast over all Channels of All India Radio (AIR) in Hindi followed by English from 7 P.M. onwards. In addition AIR will broadcast the regional language versions of the address over its regional channels from 9.30 P.M. onwards.

Pallam Raju felicitates school children ahead of Independence Day
The Minister of State for Defence Dr. MM Pallam Raju here today felicitated NCC cadets and School Children who would participate in the 63rd Independence Day function at the Red Fort. Addressing the children, Dr. Pallam Raju commended them for their patriotism, zeal and excitement. He hoped that the children would set an example by upholding the unity and diversity of this country. The Minister appreciated the children for their turnout, braving sweating heat and humidity.
Dr. Raju presented wrist watches as a memento to the children, group leaders and a teacher each of various schools on the occasion. He called upon the children to flaunt their mementos on Saturday when the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh unfurls the flag from the ramparts of the Red Fort.
