PPP model infrastucture collapsed in Kolkata,Ten feared to be death and One Hundred Fifty left trapped under the debris,under the under construction flyover ion the most crowded central Kolkata.
It exposes the nexus between different government agencies and promoter builder mafia raj which captured every metro and other cities in Smart Digital India!
One girder of the Vivekananda Road flyover near the old Ganesh Talkies collapsed and several vehicles are feared to be trapped underneath.All the dead persons are the workers!
An under-construction flyover has collapsed in North Kolkata near Ganesh Talkies (Girish Park), and at least ten people are feared dead. Rescue operations are underway. Mamata Banerjee is on her way to Kolkata.
The location of the bridge is in a densely populated locality in BaraBazar.
Rescue operations are currently underway and eye-witnesses at the site feared at least a 100 people could be trapped under debris.
Eyewitness said they heard a loud explosion and then a crashing sound. A cloud of smoke emerged from the collapse.
Visuals emerging from the location show huge amounts of tangled metal and concrete. There was also a fire reported under the bridge. The fire has been linked to fuel tanks that were under the bridge. Fire officials speaking to NDTV say that the fire sparked from the spilled fuel.
Official confirmation about casualties and injuries is yet to be received. However, PTI has reported one casualty in the accident.
Minister for Disaster Management Javed Khan said that about 20 to 35 people are injured in the collapse. He, however, couldn't confirm the number of deaths.
A disaster management team is on the spot.
2:25pm: More than one bus with passengers are still trapped under the debris, said Kolkata Police personnel manning the Lalbazar control room in Kolkata.
2:20pm: "The condition is pathetic. At this moment no one has any clue how many people are trapped," said Raichand Mohta, a police officer at the scene.
2.10pm: 2 units of NDRF were rushed to the accident site to assist in rescue work, says ANI.
2pm: According to Trinamool Congress sources chief minister Mamata Banerjee is rushing back to Kolkata from West Midnappore where she was on an election campaign trip.

People were seen pushing water bottles responding to cries of help coming from persons trapped under the debris .
1.50pm:Two people declared dead. Local residents in north Kolkata's Girish Park say hundreds of people and some vehicles are trapped under the debris of the flyover.
The principal of Calcutta Medical College T K Lahiri told HT that two persons were "brought dead" while two were undergoing treatment at the hospital.
News agency ANI reported 10 people were dead.
