Sikhs are a part and parcel of Hindus..During partition days, there were communal riots in Punjab. Please read "Sturn Reckoning" by Justice JDKhosla, who heard the appeal in Gandhi murder case in Simla.

Under these cricumstances his visit to Punjab may even harm the electoral bank of SAD and common sikhs in Punjab . He is considered to be a person of communal attitude.The sikhs in general are not communal may be in any party and rather hate who so ever play communal game.
